After graduating as an Agricultural Engineer, I found myself feeling unfulfilled somehow. I realised that I needed to give myself some time to figure out who I was and what to do with the time that had been given to me.
What is it that you want to do with your life Engelbert? Good question! I knew that I would like to work with natural materials and deliver a positive contribution to people’s lives. I believed that humans become better versions of themselves when they felt good and at one with their environment.
The thought that I could somehow contribute to that feeling of comfort and well-being both humbled and inspired me.
In the spring of 2007 I woke up from a power nap with the name “Livin’ Beauty” lingering in my mind.
Step by step I discovered and evolved my passion for ceramics. The magic to create with formless clay inspired me. Encouraged by ceramic artists that crossed my path I started to walk down this path with the overwhelming conviction that clay could actually become a friend.
A journey which started in my back yard has brought me to the Art Atelier you see today, where ‘me’ has become ‘we’. With our team of inspired craftsmen, we spend our day dedicated to the creation of harmony through the medium of clay. Our goal, to make life prettier.
LIVIN' BEAUTY
The name Livin’ Beauty stands both for “Live in Beauty” and “Living Beauty”. Livin’ Beauty Ceramics strives to positively contribute to a pleasant and inspiring living environment. Thus the “Live in Beauty” refers to the daily life in the living environment of people.
“Living Beauty” refers to the natural beauty of the materials used in the manufacture of ceramics. Top quality materials such as clay base and precious metals like silver and copper which are applied as glazes. Always as pure and close to nature as possible.
